Prevent and Detect Cancer
As a tribe we come together to raise awareness for those that have lost their battle with cancer or are currently fighting cancer. Cancer rates within the military community are on the rise and as an organization that focuses on military exposures, we believe that sharing the stories of those impacted can create a culture of change and enhance support for those that are ill.
Our why
The two decades of conflict has changed the composition of the population seeking medical care within VA facilities and civilian practices. Deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, Syria and Africa have young men and women returning home, with multi-factorial exposures and a wide array of symptoms.
Service members do not deploy unhealthy, but they return with progressive illnesses and worsening symptoms.
As the conflicts in these countries continues, so does the increasingly, alarming rates of cancers, rare illnesses and idiopathic symptoms in our fellow veterans returning home.
As a team consisting of military veterans and medical professionals, we’ve been given a ‘second chance’, we made it home alive. We are committed to giving back to those who served before us, after us and side-by-side with us, by conducting medical research and offering solutions for a better quality of life.

MILLION VETERANS HAVE SERVED POST 9/11 IN SUPPORT OF THE GLOBAL WAR ON TERROR
OF THOSE VETERANS HAVE DIED IN COMBAT OPERATIONS
OF THOSE VETERANS DIED AFTER MILITARY SERVICE FOR UNKNOWN REASONS
REPORTED EXPOSURE TO TOXINS WHILE DEPLOYED
Our most funded program assists with diagnostic imaging, screening and assessments to at-home medical supplies such as portable oxygen. Veterans and their families are often left alone to cover specialized care costs due to delayed wait times, insurance confusion or co-payments; that is where we step in, assist the veteran and their families and allow them to focus on their health and not finances.
97% of post-9/11 veterans admit to being present around airborne hazards and toxins while deployed. However, majority of those exposed do not understand the significance or potential risks that carry with these exposures. We aim to assure these warfighters understand their exposures through social media campaigns, written materials and handouts.
Our impact begins on the notation that we need to improve the veteran healthcare process to focus on secondary prevention rather than tertiary (late-stage) care. This requires we review the most current evidence-based medical research in the world and implement change through innovation and quality improvement.
HunterSeven Foundation provides information to veterans at a heightened risk that empowers them to work with medical providers to identify diseases in the earliest stages, before the onset of signs and symptoms. Additionally, our ‘Warrior Needs‘ impact is measured in the later stages of diagnosis, whether a chronic illness or terminal cancer – ranging from tertiary medical treatments at specialized clinics, cost of care, transportation, medical equipment, hospice care and survivor support.
OUR PROGRAMS
Research
The HunterSeven Foundation research is multi-factorial and is focused on researching the impact of military-related exposures on health and overall wellness of the service member. The objective of the research is to discover the root-cause of dysfunction and understand the trends that influence this dysfunction.
Education
HunterSeven Foundation believes knowledge is power. Our education program is designed to share important medically-proven data and research with the veteran and healthcare communities, to increase awareness of military exposures and the impact on veteran health. Understanding your exposures is the first step to wellness.
Immediate Needs
HunterSeven Foundation, through strategic partnerships and foundation resources, assists individuals that have been made ill as a result of military exposures by providing access to care and medical resources needed for improved health.
